Candace Cameron Bure says she joined Fox’s “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” to keep fear from ruling her life. Newly 50, she saw training with Navy SEALs as a chance to take on hard challenges; season five premieres Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.
Bure said she hopes her participation will encourage women around her age not to dismiss opportunities just because they are challenging. She said women can still take on hard things during perimenopause or menopause.
Filmed in Malaysia, season five also features George Santos, Brandi Glanville, Collin Gosselin, Mauricio and Alexia Umansky, figure skater Maxim Naumov and actor Oliver Hudson, a longtime friend of Bure’s.
