Ian Rapoport reported the Packers are signing offensive lineman Laken Tomlinson from the Cowboys’ practice squad. Tomlinson has 162 career starts; Green Bay is adding him after its offensive line drew criticism in a 35–14 Week 2 loss to Atlanta.
Tomlinson, 34, was a first-round pick by Detroit in 2015 and has played for five NFL teams. He made the Pro Bowl in 2021; last season with Houston, he started seven of 10 games.
His departure leaves Dallas with an open practice-squad spot. The Cowboys had hoped to keep the veteran for depth and will have to consider adding another offensive lineman.
