MS NOW’s annual fan gathering leaves New York for Texas for first time

MS NOW held its third annual fan gathering in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday—the network’s first outside New York—bringing anchors and viewers together for an all-day program on democracy and the midterms, including a Texas race that could help decide Senate control.

The Texas matchup is between Democratic state Rep. James Talarico and Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton. MS NOW’s Jen Psaki said Texas was central to this year’s political conversation; earlier this month, the network also held a Dallas event to launch its membership service.

Anchor Stephanie Ruhle called live audience events “the future” of journalism, saying she values meeting viewers who want to be informed and engaged. She also said Texas should not be ceded to one party.
