Joe Scarborough urged Republicans Monday to stop Donald Trump’s partisan ads, which were paid for with taxpayer money. He called the use of public funds for the spots “communism” and warned they could hurt the GOP in November.
One spot plays “Love Me” over images of Trump as UFC chief Dana White praises him. Another reuses a 2024 clip in which Trump promises to “demolish” groups he calls “warmongers,” “globalists,” fascists and Marxists, and to “rout” the “fake news” media. The White House says the ads are public service announcements.
One former ethics chief called the publicly subsidized ads “propaganda” and an impeachable offense.
