Francesca Scorsese says filmmaker Martin Scorsese was “a little nervous” when she chose acting, a move she felt was “a little rebellious.” She says her father has been her rock and supports what makes her happy; she is joining season 2 of Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
She said she often seeks her father’s “greenlight” before taking a role and called him her best friend, saying he knows everything about her. Variety and Deadline reported in May that she will appear in Mr. & Mrs. Smith alongside Mark Eydelshteyn and Talia Ryder; she said she cannot share details about her role.
In July, Scorsese said she initially thought “nepo baby” was a compliment, then was surprised by the hostility toward the term. After receiving harsh comments about her Mr. & Mrs. Smith casting, she acknowledged that being from a famous family opens doors but said she is still working hard and creating.
