AI actress Tilly Norwood said she’d love to work with Tom Holland and Olivia Colman, but only if their digital twins joined her in an AI production. At the Zurich Film Festival, creator Eline van der Velden also revisited the backlash to her creation.
Van der Velden said she created Norwood to bridge communication between technology and entertainment and prompt discussion about AI’s role in creative work. She said her company, Particle 6, has grown eightfold in the past year and now has four departments working across AI advertising, film and TV, co-productions, original commissions and AI consultancy.
Van der Velden said Particle 6 has declined offers for Norwood to appear in traditional films, saying she was made for AI films and the studio does not currently need an agent for her. After Norwood unexpectedly began speaking Cantonese during a live interview with Piers Morgan, van der Velden said the malfunction should not be taken too seriously and called for discussion of AI regulation and guardrails.
