Singer Ricky Martin was born and raised in Puerto Rico and is from San Juan. His family moved from Segovia, Spain, to the island in the late 1700s. Martin is set to perform with Pedro Sampaio at halftime of the Cowboys-Ravens matchup in Brazil.
Martin began singing at 6 and appeared in TV commercials by 9. He joined Puerto Rican boy band Menudo at 12 after his third audition and left in July 1989, aged 17. He signed with Sony Discos in 1991, and his debut solo album sold more than 500,000 copies worldwide.
Martin reportedly lives in a Beverly Hills mansion. The New York Post reported in 2025 that he was selling his $6.45 million New York City home and also owned the Beverly Hills property.
