The White House barred CNN from flying aboard Air Force One to Knoxville on Saturday and listed Real America’s Voice News for the TV-pool slot. A judge had restored CNN’s White House access two days earlier, but his order did not cover flights or pool assignments.
U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly temporarily blocked the White House ban on CNN, MS NOW and Politico from White House grounds, finding the administration had not provided due process before revoking their access. The three outlets sued, alleging violations of their First and Fifth Amendment rights.
CNN resumed its place in the five-network television pool on Friday. After CNN was removed the previous week, ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox News refused to provide substitute crews, leaving some presidential events without the usual shared video. President Trump renewed his attacks on CNN on Saturday, accusing it of fake news on Truth Social.
