New Jersey couple Bailey Adams and Larissa Scandora settled their last-name debate through 31 challenges, with Adams winning the final contest on Sept. 24. Their rules call for Scandora to take Adams’s surname when they marry in spring 2028.
Their first-to-16-wins rule meant the winner would keep her surname and the other would take it. Challenges included balloon-dart races, bobbing for apples and races in inflatable chicken costumes.
The couple said they wanted to share a last name because both names represent their families, but they could not decide which to choose. Videos of the challenges have drawn thousands of views on TikTok, where commenters cheer for their favorite name.
