Woody Harrelson hired Laura Louie as his assistant after they met in 1987; they began dating three years later and married in Hawaii in December 2008. They have three daughters, Deni, Zoe and Makani; Louie joined Harrelson at the Sept. 17 premiere of his Apple TV series Brothers.
Harrelson recalled that he wrote Louie a song to reveal his feelings. After he played it, she told him she had been in love with him for the previous three years.
Louie co-founded Yoganics, an organic-produce delivery company that operated in Texas until it closed in 2015. She later started Yoganics Maui, which offers yoga classes and health foods. The family once lived in a 200-resident eco-village on Maui; Harrelson said in 2005 that they used solar power and grew 90% of their own food.
