As the Lakers decide which 15 players to keep, Brian Windhorst says Bronny James has a better chance of staying than Jaden Hardy or Dalton Knecht because he is younger and cheaper. He says the team could trade one of the three rather than cut a player.
Windhorst said Hardy and Knecht may have trade value because their contracts are expiring, and noted Knecht's shooting. He also said the Lakers tried to trade Hardy throughout the summer but could not.
Bronny is entering his third NBA season after appearing in 42 games last season, up from 27 as a rookie; he has two career starts. His father, LeBron James, signed with the Philadelphia 76ers as a free agent, so they will no longer be teammates.
