The Cleveland Guardians beat the Kansas City Royals 11-5, celebrating their third straight AL Central title as Michael Wacha reached 200 innings. Kansas City built a 3-0 lead, but a second-inning fielding error helped set up four unearned Cleveland runs.
Wacha gave up a home run to Chase DeLauter in the third and another run in the sixth. Manager Matt Quatraro sent him back out for the seventh, then removed him after one out to an ovation. Kansas City scored twice in the eighth, but Patrick Bailey and Brayan Rocchio hit consecutive homers in the ninth.
The Royals have one game left, scheduled for 2:10 p.m. Central, with Daniel Lynch IV starting. Cleveland had not announced a starter.
