Trump rejects reports Byron Donalds is distancing himself after site changes

Trump rejected claims Florida GOP governor candidate Byron Donalds was distancing himself after his campaign site removed at least eight Trump references. Donalds says the planned redesign spotlights Florida policies; Trump’s endorsement remains on the site.

The earlier homepage called Donalds a “Trump-endorsed Proven Conservative Fighter,” showed him and his wife with Trump, and listed “Enact the Trump Agenda” among campaign priorities. The redesigned site still carries Trump’s endorsement on a separate endorsements page and in a rotating collection on the homepage.

Donalds said the redesign had been planned for about two months. Trump called the reports a “fake story,” repeated his “Complete and Total Endorsement,” and said two Florida rallies for Donalds were scheduled, predicting they would sell out. He attacked the outlets that reported the changes and said media he called dishonest should be barred from the White House and press room.
