President Donald Trump plans to visit Vandalia, Ohio, on Saturday to support Republican Sen. Jon Husted, who faces a competitive challenge from Democratic former Sen. Sherrod Brown. The race is seen as vital to determining control of the Senate.
The Vandalia stop, just north of Dayton, is scheduled after visits to Oklahoma on Thursday and Alabama on Friday. Ohio Republican Party Chairman Alex Triantafilou said he wanted Trump to visit and called him a turnout driver; Trump won Ohio by 11 percentage points in 2024.
Brown is seeking a comeback two years after losing his Senate seat to Republican Bernie Moreno. Husted, a longtime Ohio Republican politician, was tapped to fill the seat vacated by JD Vance when Vance became vice president.
