Tropicana Field to host Red Sox-Cubs finale amid nor’easter threat

The Red Sox and Cubs will play their series finale at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, not Fenway Park, because of a nor’easter threat. First pitch is 3:05 p.m. ET Sunday, Sept. 27, rather than 7:15 p.m. Saturday; Boston said tickets will be fully refunded.

Storm precautions had already moved the series’ originally scheduled Sunday game to Friday as part of a split doubleheader. The teams were to travel to Florida after Friday’s second game; the Red Sox cited the safety of both traveling parties.
