Denver coach Sean Payton praised tight ends Evan Engram and Nate Adkins for their early-season work. Engram has five catches for 60 yards and a touchdown through two games; Adkins had three catches for 32 yards and a score in Denver’s comeback win over Jacksonville.
Engram’s early production follows a 2025 season in which he had 50 catches for 461 yards and one touchdown. Payton said Engram’s offseason and training-camp work improved his blocking, helping him earn a larger role; he has played 57% of Denver’s offensive snaps, up 15% from 2025.
Adkins, a third-year tight end, missed almost half of last season with an injury. Payton also praised his blocking in space and contributions on special teams.
