At UFC Vegas 121 on Sept. 26, Tina Black stopped Melissa Amaya in round two to win the TUF 34 women’s strawweight final; Ilimbek Akylbek took the men’s bantamweight final by disqualification after Mehemmedeli Osmanli’s accidental illegal knee. Both received UFC contracts.
Amaya briefly wobbled Black with a power shot late in round one, but Black dropped her with combinations in the second and finished with ground-and-pound. Osmanli’s knee landed early in the first and put Akylbek down. The referee took time to stop the fight, while replay showed the strike was illegal.
