Nebraska beat Michigan State 31-13 after leading 24-10 at halftime and holding the Spartans to a second-half field goal. Stars Jordan Hall and Cam Edwards were carted off at separate points; the recap says both injuries could be long-term.
A holding penalty wiped out an early Michigan State blocked punt that would have put the Spartans in scoring position with a 3-0 lead; Nebraska scored a 44-yard touchdown on the ensuing drive. Another Cornhuskers touchdown with two seconds left before halftime made it 24-10.
Hall was injured on the opening play of the second half, while Edwards was hurt in the first half. Alessio Milivojevic passed for 208 yards, and Jaz Patterson had 16 carries and a touchdown. Michigan State is scheduled to play Wisconsin in Madison on Oct. 3.
