The Texas Rangers beat the Minnesota Twins 6-2 in game 161, moving to 80-81 and keeping their postseason hopes alive. They lead the AL West by half a game and would clinch the division by winning Sunday's finale if Houston loses at least one more game.
Texas turned a 1-0 first-inning deficit around with four two-out runs in the second. Nathan Eovaldi allowed one run on four hits and two walks over 4⅓ innings on 71 pitches. Danny Jansen drove in two runs with two hits, including a home run, and started the second-inning rally.
The regular-season finale is scheduled for Sunday at 2:10 p.m. CDT at Target Field. Texas had not announced its starting pitcher; Minnesota was set to start right-hander Dean Kremer.
