Minnesota has agreed to a deal with former Lakers big man Drew Timme, HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reported, adding depth behind Rudy Gobert after trading Naz Reid and Julius Randle. Timme has no guaranteed rotation spot but could compete for backup minutes.
The other centers behind Gobert are Joan Beringer and Rocco Zikarsky, who have played 350 combined NBA minutes. Beringer, 19, accounts for 314 of them.
Timme averaged 23.7 points per game for the Lakers’ G League affiliate, South Bay, last season. In NBA games for Los Angeles, he averaged 5.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists.
