Dallas kept players’ families in the U.S. for Sunday’s Ravens game in Rio as coach Brian Schottenheimer called the trip a business-focused preparation visit. The State Department advises increased caution in Brazil, citing crime and kidnapping.

Some parts of Brazil—including areas near international borders and informal housing developments—carry a Level 4 “do not travel” warning. The advisory also describes express kidnappings in which victims are forced to withdraw cash from ATMs or transfer funds.

Dallas arrived in Rio with a 1-1 record and just over 48 hours before Sunday’s kickoff. Its schedule included a Friday practice at Flamengo’s training ground and a stadium visit Saturday; Schottenheimer said meetings, a walkthrough and practice were key to preparing.
