Tiffani Thiessen says she earned little for “Saved by the Bell,” describing the pay as “nothing”; she says one primetime season paid a little more, but she did not make “real money” until joining “Beverly Hills, 90210” in 1994, she told SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio.
Thiessen said she thinks she no longer receives residuals for playing Kelly Kapowski, adding that she believes the payments have dried up and printing the check costs more. She recalled a Los Angeles bar where actors could use 38-cent residual checks to buy a drink, though she was unsure whether it was still open.
In January 2019, former co-star Mark-Paul Gosselaar told Watch What Happens Live that the cast had made “really bad deals” for the show, describing them as poor deals at the time.
