Deacon Phillippe, son of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, will make his feature-film acting debut in “Brother Save Us,” premiering Sept. 26 at the Nashville Film Festival. He called himself “extremely lucky” to have famous parents and vowed to work extremely hard.
Set in a dystopian Midwest, the film follows brothers Cole and Nat. Their lives change after their father buys an AI farm bot from Agentico, which the synopsis describes as a controversial tech company. Phillippe said the script’s portrayal of a brother’s love resonated with his relationship with his 13-year-old brother, Tennessee Toth.
Jesse Behrenwald wrote and directed the film, and Phillippe is also a producer. Phillippe previously appeared in episodes of Never Have I Ever and Motorheads and is set to star in the adaptation of Better Than the Movies.
