Taylor Swift added four songs, including “Patient Zero,” a single about a toxic relationship, to “The Life of a Showgirl.” The expanded edition, “The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore,” debuted at midnight US Eastern Daylight Time Friday.
A video for “Patient Zero” is set to debut Sunday during MTV’s Video Music Awards, where Swift is set to be honored with the inaugural artist director trophy. Actors Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson play roles in the video.
“Cleveland!” refers to the hometown of Swift’s husband, Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce. Swift said she wrote the new tracks in Sweden with producers Max Martin and Shellback while celebrating the album’s success. Released in October 2025, “The Life of a Showgirl” was the first album to place all 12 songs in the Billboard top 12 simultaneously; its first week also set a modern-era sales record based on album sales and streams.
