Arnold Schwarzenegger’s lawyers asked a Los Angeles judge to increase security, bar recording and restrict courtroom access at his expected testimony in a damages trial, after the plaintiff’s lawyer posted a Terminator-themed ad with the court details.
Cheryl Augustine says Schwarzenegger’s negligent driving caused her life-altering injuries in a 2022 four-vehicle crash. He has admitted negligence but disputes the amount of damages; the trial is to determine her payout, and the requested total was not immediately clear.
Augustine’s lawyer, Gary A. Dordick, posted the mock-movie ad five weeks before Schwarzenegger’s appearance. It showed Dordick dressed as the Terminator and gave the court date, time, location and expected duration. Schwarzenegger’s filing says the details were public but argues the post made them easier to find and identified him as the first witness.
