The Steelers placed rookie guard Gennings Dunker on injured reserve. Tom Pelissero reports he is expected to miss four to six weeks with an MCL sprain. Pittsburgh signed running back Travis Homer to fill Dunker’s roster spot before Sunday’s Bengals game.
Rico Dowdle was out for Sunday’s matchup, while Jaylen Warren and Joey Porter Jr. were questionable. Porter was not expected to play against Cincinnati.
The Steelers also elevated running back Lew Nichols and defensive back Doneiko Slaughter from the practice squad for the game; both will revert to the squad afterward. It was Slaughter’s third elevation this season, and he cannot be elevated again after Week 3 unless signed to the 53-man roster. Homer’s signing also opened a practice-squad spot.
