Colorado coach Deion Sanders said he dismissed multiple players after the 41-7 loss to Northwestern, following an episode in which players laughed as they entered the locker room. Their names have not been disclosed; Sanders called the behavior detrimental to the team.
Sanders said the decision was not about one incident alone, describing the issue as conduct detrimental to the team. He said he had not acted firmly enough the previous year, when the problem lingered and then “imploded.”
Safety Ben Finneseth apologized Tuesday for pregame remarks about Northwestern’s crowd size, calling his comments childish and saying they would not happen again. The 2-1 Buffaloes were due to face Baylor in Waco that weekend.
