Lisa Bradford, 54, was found shot dead at her Aldie, Virginia, home Tuesday. Her husband, Roger Bradford, 60, was charged with first-degree murder and using a firearm during a felony; he was arrested in Pennsylvania after a three-state manhunt and awaits extradition.
Deputies went to the couple’s home after a relative raised concerns about Roger Bradford’s involvement, but he had already left in a rental car. Investigators traced it north through Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania; state police arrested him in Bedford about three hours after deputies received the initial call.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the handgun used in the shooting had not been recovered, and searches of the home and rental vehicle were continuing. Sheriff Mike Chapman said investigators did not know whether the couple had a history of domestic incidents. Authorities said there was no ongoing threat to the public.
