BuzzFeed compiled 17 Reddit replies to a question about costs women say are higher than men's. They cite haircuts, underwear, deodorant, menstrual products, pink-colored goods, repair quotes and reproductive-health expenses; these are anecdotes, not a price study.
One barber-shop customer said she paid $25 for a men's-style haircut that would have cost $20 at the men's rate; another said her short cut cost twice as much. A separate post said women-marketed boxer briefs cost three times as much as men's, while camisoles were at least $10 each versus $25–30 for a five-pack of men's undershirts.
One respondent also named an exception, saying men generally pay more for car insurance.
