Pepperdine’s 3,600-seat Mountain at Mullin Park arena is due for completion in early December, ahead of the Waves’ Dec. 5 opener. A Trinity League-Mission League challenge is set for Dec. 22; the venue could host regional high school basketball and volleyball championships.
The Waves are scheduled to open the arena against Florida Gulf Coast on Dec. 5. It includes individual locker rooms for Pepperdine’s men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams, a visiting locker room, a practice court, a training room and a video room equipped for broadcasts.
Approximately $150 million was raised for the project, which also includes a parking lot with more than 800 spaces and a student center with its own basketball court. Coaches’ offices will remain in Firestone Fieldhouse, which will continue as a practice facility.
