The Reddit post says the husband grew up in a strict Amish community, and the family has years of experience gardening, canning food, raising chickens and butchering, as well as supplies that do not require electricity. The property is about 20 minutes from town; the move would give their three daughters room to roam while the family works toward a permanent home.
Commenters warned that the rafters appeared to be bowing. The post also lists bathroom logistics, safe bathing, winter readiness and structural repairs as unresolved hurdles.
