New England deactivated safety Craig Woodson and ruled out outside linebacker Dre’Mont Jones for Sunday against Jacksonville. Both injured their shoulders last week; with Dell Pettus on injured reserve, Kevin Byard is the only one of the Patriots’ top three safeties available.
Rookie tight end Eli Raridon was also ruled out with a thigh injury. New England’s other inactive players were healthy scratches: quarterback Behren Morton, tackle Dametrious Crownover and defensive tackle Leonard Taylor III. Byard will be joined by Jaylen Reed and practice-squad elevation Mike Brown. Jacksonville ruled out defensive tackle Albert Regis, listed as doubtful with an elbow injury; its other inactives were C.J. Williams, Daniel Faalele, Wesley Williams, Jack Kiser and Jalen Huskey. Kickoff at EverBank Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
