The Padres reinstated right-hander Jason Adam from the 60-day injured list Wednesday and designated Alek Jacob for assignment. Jacob, 28, made three MLB appearances this season after throwing a career-high 33.1 innings for San Diego in 2025.
Jacob has a 4.18 ERA over 56 major-league innings since his 2023 debut. At Triple-A this season, he posted a 5.58 ERA in 61.1 innings; the article says he is likely to go on waivers.
