Patriots coach Mike Vrabel said Greg Van Roten, Ben Brown and Walter Rouse will get chances at right guard as New England replaces Mike Onwenu, who broke his ankle against Pittsburgh and is on injured reserve. Van Roten filled in Sunday; no starter is set.
Van Roten, 36, has played 185 pro games—150 in the NFL and 35 in the CFL—and made 51 straight starts from 2023 through 2025. Vrabel called him smart and crafty and said he would work at guard with Morgan Moses.
Vrabel said the coaches would work several players over the next few days before making a decision. The Patriots are preparing to face the Jacksonville Jaguars; left tackle Will Campbell said the team trusts its offensive linemen to step into the role.
