Jayson Barker, a Wilmington College janitor, was arrested and charged this week with 11 counts of voyeurism after a women’s soccer player allegedly saw him taking photos from above the locker room as teammates changed. He is out on bail.
Police said Barker allegedly hid in the ceiling above the locker room. Campus security detained him until police arrived; he was initially held at a nearby jail on a $22,000 bond. Online court records list his pretrial hearing for Oct. 5.
Wilmington College said Barker worked for a custodial-services vendor and that it ended its relationship with the contractor after his arrest. The college said it has been providing counseling and other support to affected students since Tuesday night and is taking measures to protect their safety and well-being.
