Fluor says Austin’s $677 million Oak Hill Parkway is fully open after rebuilding about seven miles of U.S. 290 and SH 71. It adds a third main lane each way and flyovers, while TxDOT warns drivers to expect lane shifts, closures, detours and night work through 2026.
The project also replaced the old Y-interchange and added frontage roads, U-turns, bike and pedestrian improvements, 14 miles of shared-use path and 1.5 miles of sidewalks, according to TxDOT. TxDOT broke ground in July 2021; Fluor’s joint venture with Balfour Beatty built the project for the agency.
