The Guardian review described the recreated voice as uncanny; the article says critics argued it lacks Wilder’s timing, spontaneity and live interpretive judgment. According to Deadline, Karen B. Wilder said she was pleased to help introduce her late husband’s work to a new generation.
The factory set includes a chocolate river, Wonkavision studio, shrinking hallway and honey-themed room; the two-part finale is scheduled for Sept. 30.
