At Connect 2026, Meta showed VR glasses planned to ship in spring 2027 from $1,299. Meta says the 100-gram device uses eye tracking and hand gestures, but the reviewer found selection cues hard to see and the virtual keyboard difficult to use.
Meta describes the two 5K Micro OLED pancake displays as Dolby Vision- and IMAX-certified and 3D-capable. A tethered puck houses the chip and battery; Meta says it can last three hours on its own. Quest Touch controllers can also connect over Bluetooth.
Meta is pitching the glasses beyond gaming, with 75 launch titles being enhanced for hand-first use and a planned 3D movie-and-show store featuring projects from Lionsgate and James Cameron. The reviewer found the glasses comfortable but was unsure they would solve VR’s isolating feel. Meta demonstrated prescription calibration but had not explained how buyers could set it up themselves.
