Nansen CEO Alex Svanevik said nursing and other hands-on care jobs may be harder to automate because they require physical presence and trust. He expects AI tutors to spread, but says children will still need human mentors; he also sees live entertainment as resilient.
On The Sujal Show, published Sept. 19, Svanevik said AI could help with healthcare diagnosis, planning and instructions without replicating physical interaction. For education, he suggested roughly one human mentor for every five students, rather than one teacher for a class of 25. He said robotic performers may create new entertainment, but are more likely to add to than replace human performers.
A Sept. 17 Pew Research Center survey found people in 34 of 37 countries were more likely to expect AI to reduce jobs over the next two decades than create them; that expectation was 76% in Australia and South Korea and 71% in the United States. Bill Gates warned Aug. 26 that AI could rapidly affect law, customer service, medicine, software and manufacturing within a decade, and that without the right policies there could be far fewer jobs than today.
