Mark Consuelos said on Friday’s Live With Kelly and Mark that he would have surgery on his big toe after the show, following about a year of delays. He said arthritis was behind the painful problem; Kelly Ripa planned to go with him.
Consuelos said he had fasted for a day before surgery and felt “a little loopy.” Ripa said she would accompany him and joked about filming him as he emerged from anesthesia.
The report did not establish whether the procedure would keep Consuelos off the following week’s episodes or whether the weekend would be enough for his recovery.
