Marisa Tomei says seeing longtime Spider-Man co-stars Tom Holland and Zendaya thrive has been “a deep, deep joy” after nearly a decade working with them. She is also proud that her Aunt May served as a mentor to Holland’s Peter Parker.
Tomei described the year as “seriously busy.” Her slate includes The Mongoose with Liam Neeson and the horror film Hellhound with Sam Rockwell; she also has a lead role in season 2 of HBO’s War and reprised Aunt May in flashbacks in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Tomei said the new work follows a fallow period when Hollywood was disrupted by the pandemic and strikes. She said the entertainment industry now feels as though it has found its footing again.
