Michael P. Desronvil, the lone juror who wanted Lindsay Clancy convicted, says he had no doubts; his lawyer reports death threats, doxing and harassment after an 11-1 deadlock ended the six-week murder trial without a verdict.
Attorney Edward Paltzik said Desronvil was moved to a secure, undisclosed location amid safety concerns. A GiveSendGo campaign for security, lost work and other expenses has raised more than $350,000; the platform verified his identity and designated him as the direct recipient. Desronvil challenged other jurors' claims that he acknowledged reasonable doubt but refused to acquit, saying physical evidence, key witnesses and the prosecution's case convinced him Clancy knew what she was doing and planned it.
Clancy admitted strangling her three children with exercise bands in January 2023. Her defense argued postpartum psychosis left her unable to understand her actions were wrong; prosecutors acknowledged mental illness but maintained she was criminally responsible. A Sept. 29 hearing is set on the defense's request for a finding of not guilty by reason of lack of criminal responsibility; no retrial has been announced. Separately, Patrick Clancy's lawyer said law enforcement was notified about false online claims he took part in the killings or helped frame Lindsay. No lawsuit has been announced, but the lawyer warned legal action was coming.
