Lauren Graham recalled that she and Melissa McCarthy have taken turns throwing cowboy-themed Christmas parties since becoming friends on “Gilmore Girls.” She shared the tradition at Variety’s Sept. 23 Power of Women ceremony; one party featured a band called Cousin Lovers.
McCarthy was honored for her work in television and film and her philanthropy with Mariska Hargitay’s foundation, Joyful Heart. In her acceptance speech, she thanked Graham for quietly helping her learn the ropes on “Gilmore Girls” instead of pointing out her mistakes.
