Atlanta beat Green Bay 35-14 on Thursday night in Week 3, earning its first win of the season and dropping the Packers to 1-2. Coach Matt LaFleur called the loss a “butt-whooping,” saying Atlanta’s 500 yards of offense meant he wouldn’t blame it on one play.
Atlanta outgained Green Bay 500-328, though the Packers had 134 of their yards in the fourth quarter. Green Bay rushed for 17 yards, the fewest in an NFL game this season, and allowed 244 rushing yards to Atlanta’s two backs, the most in a game this season. Bijan Robinson ran for 194 yards, one shy of his career high; Drake London caught nine passes for a career-high 194 yards.
Atlanta’s 35 points were the most Green Bay had allowed in a home opener since 1971. The loss was the Packers’ first in a home opener since 2012 and left them with their worst start since LaFleur took over in 2019. Green Bay visits Tampa Bay in Week 4, then hosts Chicago in Week 5; Atlanta visits New Orleans.
