Lady Louise is understood to be planning a gap year after graduating from St Andrews; her brother James, Earl of Wessex, has begun studying Rural Land & Property Management at the Royal Agricultural University. Neither is expected to take on royal duties.
Her gap year is understood to include work, volunteering and travel. Louise also collected her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award from Prince Edward at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
Louise could use the title “Princess Louise” after turning 18 but has chosen not to; James likewise did not adopt the title “Prince James” when he turned 18. His title changed from Viscount Severn to Earl of Wessex in 2023, when his parents became the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
