Macklemore’s three-show “Free Palestine” tour will stop in Dublin on Oct. 26, Paris on Oct. 29 and London on Oct. 30. All proceeds will benefit 12 organizations, including Anera, UNRWA USA and the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
The beneficiaries are Anera, Glia, Gaza Soup Kitchen, Taawon, HEAL Palestine, Palestinian Youth Movement, Middle East Children’s Alliance, Jewish Voice for Peace, Medical Aid for Palestinians, Institute for Middle East Understanding, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund and UNRWA USA.
Live Nation said the performances would bring Macklemore together with artists and friends to center Palestine and Palestinians and support humanitarian aid and the movement. The announcement followed Macklemore’s removal as opener from Ed Sheeran’s U.S. tour after he made “Free Palestine” speeches at two MetLife Stadium concerts in New Jersey. Macklemore said artists should use stages to support Palestinian liberation and push back against what he described as attempts to silence that call.
