Jonathan Taylor Thomas was released after more than 34 hours in custody following a Sept. 21 Westlake Village stop. Deputies allege he interrupted a DUI investigation and kicked a deputy; no charges had been filed by Sept. 24, and his booking was reclassified as a detention.
Deputies said they found the vehicle stopped at Westlake Boulevard and Townsgate Road despite a green light, blocking traffic, and that the driver appeared intoxicated. Thomas, a passenger, allegedly repeatedly left the car and approached deputies as the driver underwent field sobriety tests, despite being told to stay inside.
Deputies attempted to detain Thomas for obstruction and public intoxication; the driver was separately arrested on suspicion of DUI. Thomas was booked at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station shortly before 2 a.m. The department said it would submit the case to prosecutors for consideration. Thomas had not publicly addressed the account, and his representatives had not responded to the allegation.
