Alabama beat South Carolina 49-18 on Saturday, piling up 491 yards of offense after taking a 35-10 halftime lead. Quarterback Keelon Russell completed 21 of 27 passes for 365 yards and four touchdowns, then added a rushing score late in the fourth quarter.
Coach Kalen DeBoer said Alabama needed to keep executing and protect Russell. He added that South Carolina's efforts to stop the run would open passing opportunities. Alabama ran for 124 yards; EJ Crowell had 50 on six carries, including a 39-yard run.
Ryan Coleman-Williams finished with five catches for 98 yards; four of those catches, totaling 86 yards, came in the first half, when he scored twice.
