Greek international Konstantinos Karetsas began his Borussia Dortmund chapter on Aug. 3, 2026, after a Genk 2025/26 season with three goals and 16 assists. He also became the youngest scorer in Greece’s national-team history.
Born in Genk, Belgium, Karetsas is a fourth-generation member of the Greek diaspora and chose to represent Greece. He scored in the national team’s 3-0 Nations League playoff win over Scotland. Kathimerini reported that Sir Alex Ferguson praised Karetsas and teammate Giannis Konstantelias, saying they could play in any of his teams.
After joining Genk’s academy at eight, he moved to Anderlecht and returned to Genk in January 2023 at 15. He debuted for Jong Genk, becoming the youngest player involved in a Challenger Pro League goal; weeks later, he became Belgian professional football’s youngest goalscorer. He made his Genk first-team debut in May 2024 and became the club’s youngest first-team goalscorer on Dec. 22, 2024.
