The Mets appointed Derek Falvey senior advisor of baseball operations and promoted Kris Gross to assistant general manager of scouting. Gross will also contribute to major-league transactions, alongside amateur talent acquisition.
Falvey had been president of baseball operations for the Minnesota Twins since November 2019. He and Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns were co-directors of baseball operations in Cleveland in 2011–12.
Five days earlier, Steve Cohen had said he was trying to add “certain voices” to the Mets’ front office for 2027. Gross had been the team’s vice president of amateur and international scouting since November 2023, after more than a decade as an Astros scout.
